Awarded Waste Tire Grant

The City of Caldwell is excited to announce that we have been awarded a Waste Tire Grant from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment and Keep it Clean Kansas to improve safety and accessibility at two of our playground areas!

This project will allow the City to remove the existing sand beneath two playground structures and replace it with rubber mulch surfacing made from recycled tires. The new material will provide a cleaner, safer, and more accessible play surface for children and families enjoying our parks.

Not only does this improvement help modernize our playgrounds, it also gives recycled waste tires a second life in a beneficial way for our community.

Work on the project is expected to begin in the coming weeks. We appreciate the opportunity to improve our parks and recreational spaces for Caldwell residents and visitors!
