REQUEST FOR BID PROPOSALS

DEMOLITION OF 7 & 9 SOUTH MAIN STREET

The City of Caldwell, Kansas, is accepting sealed bid proposals for the demolition of the structures located at 7 & 9 South Main Street, Caldwell, Kansas, in accordance with the Project Manual and Bid Documents prepared by BG Consultants, Inc. for Project No. 26-1171.

Project Scope

The project consists of the complete demolition and removal of the existing structures, including but not limited to:

Removal of all building materials, foundations, and associated site improvements

Removal and proper disconnection/capping of utilities

Site clearing, grading, and backfilling

Surface restoration to provide a safe, stable, and compliant site for future development

An alternate bid shall also be submitted for the salvage and stabilization of the east façade of the structure.

Bid Submission

Sealed bids will be received by:

Deadline for Submission:

12:00 p.m. (local time), August 10, 2026 bid opening to follow.

Bids received after the deadline will not be considered.

Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately following the submission deadline.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site walkthrough will be held:

Date: July 8, 2026

Time: 11:00 a.m.

Location: 113 S Main, Caldwell, Kansas

Attendance is strongly encouraged.

Bid Requirements

Each bid submission shall include:

Completed Bid Form

Bid Bond equal to no less than 5% of the total bid amount

Certificate of Insurance

List of subcontractors and material suppliers

Alternate pricing form

Contractor license information

Successful bidders will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the contract amount.

Project Timeline

The successful bidder shall achieve:

Substantial Completion within 90 calendar days from Notice to Proceed

Final Completion within 120 calendar days

Liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day will apply for delays beyond substantial completion.
