New Code Enforcement Notification

ree

The City of Caldwell is taking a proactive step toward improving the appearance and safety of our community by contracting with a dedicated Code Compliance Contractor.

This move comes in response to growing concerns from citizens and City officials alike about the number of neglected and blighted properties throughout town.

Over time, abandoned structures, overgrown yards, and code violations have begun to impact the overall image of our City — not to mention property values and public safety. In an effort to address these issues more effectively and consistently, the City will now be working with a professional contractor who specializes in municipal code enforcement.

What This Means for You

Beginning this month, the Code Compliance Contractor will be responsible for identifying, documenting, and following up on code violations across the City. Their role will include inspecting properties, issuing notices, and working with property owners to bring properties into compliance. This includes issues such as:

Tall grass and weeds

Abandoned vehicles

Unsafe or deteriorated structures

Junk and debris in yards

Property maintenance violations

This partnership allows for more effective, timely, and consistent enforcement of City codes, which have been adopted to ensure the health, safety, and overall quality of life for our residents.

Why Now?

Blight doesn’t just affect one property — it impacts entire neighborhoods. By addressing these problems directly, the City aims to foster a sense of pride in ownership, attract new development, and preserve the integrity of our community. Contracting this service will help ensure that every property is held to the same standard and that no concern falls through the cracks.

How You Can Help

We ask all residents to take a moment to review your property and do your part in keeping our community clean, safe, and welcoming. If you have concerns or questions about a property near you, you will report concerns to "Professional Code Compliance" by emailing procodecompliance@icloud.com.

The City appreciates your continued support and partnership as we work together to improve and protect the place we all call home.
